Home improvements part 1
Well, we have been moved into our new house for about a month now! I love it! I love having somewhere to call home, I love having something that is ours, I love being able to do what we want to it and I love that we are across the street from target .
It seems like everytime we start a project it turns into a way bigger project than we thought it would be. Fun, but expensive and time consuming. Justin is currently tiling the guest bathroom shower and is preparing to replace the plumbing throughout the house.

I have been so excited for fall because it cools down, my house always smells like pumpkin scentsy, hot cocoa, crock pot meals, and cute decorations of course! So since tomorrow is the first official day of fall, I decided I better get my fire place finished and the mantel decorated.
I wanted to take off that ugly old paneling above the fireplace, but behind that huge mirror was some random pieces of plywood nailed to the wall. So I took those off thinking there would be dry wall behind it. Nope! Of course there wasnt. The plywood was literally covering the brick from the chimney. Dang hippies and their weird architecture in the 60's!
So I decided to put paintable wallpaper over the whole paneling and paint over it white. It's pretty cool stuff! $20 for a big roll at lowes, home depot, target, wherever. It comes in different designs and textures.
I painted over the brick on the fireplace in white milk paint and oiled it with hemp oil to bring out the dimension in the brick. I also painted the back of the shelving in charcoal gray and they rest of the shelves white. The pellet stove was spray painted in a black high heat spray paint.
I've been pretty busy with ava, this new house and being a health coach for Beachbody. But it is fun stuff I tell ya! I wouldn't have it any other way!
Remember this before picture???? Yikes!! |
